Need to know how to remove armrest on 1989 c1500 silverdo. you can not see any screws the door has a pull strap. can you get to screws after removing door panel?

There were a couple of different style door panels for that body style. If yours has the hard pull bar over the armrest it should have caps on either side of the bar that need to be pried out and that will expose the bolts that need to be removed. Here’s a link to a video of the removal procedure:

Can I remove just the armrest after I get door panel off? My armrest needs replacing or recovered trying not to buy door panel in the video is the same armrest i have.

I don’t know offhand. You’ll have to look at the backside of the panel once it is off and see if there are bolts or screws holding it in place.
