I've read that you can run a toggle switch to the 12 volt source going into a hei distributor and since it will only turn over without firing it turns over easier and faster , and then you flip the toggle and it starts. Has anyone had any experience with this . It's a 355 with maybe 450 HP.
Is there anyway to adjust timing inside of the car , that doesn't cost a lot of money

No info here to work with! What is the base timing, what is your compression ratio, are all the cables clean and tite, have you confirmed the starter is in good working condition, does this happen hot or cold?

Yes, of course, it seems like you are describing a hard start or slow cranking condition work around, no? And no, from inside the car you would need a sophisticated timing control module with a matching distributor.
