I have an original Carter AVS carburetor tag #4028SA. In searching info on this carb I have found that Chevrolet only used this for one year on the 1966 275HP 327. I also have the factory cast iron intake manifold. There is supposed to be a stainless heat shield under the carb like the one used under the quadrajets. Since this is a one year only application apparently the heat shields are hard to come by. Does anyone know where to get one?

AVS?? Do you mean AFB?
My parts book says 327-275 AFB carb (L30) CA emissions (smog motor)
AFB - Aluminum Four Barrel (Carter)

Chevrolet may refer to all of the Carters as an AFB. The ABS is basically a Carter aluminum four barrel with an air valve over the secondary bores. When doing an internet search for the carb part number most results refer to it as an AVS.
