Seem like I have a small leak from my heater core. How do you remove the core? Are there any Chevy II manuals online?

Evening.Heater's in these early Chevy II's are easy to do.Drain some coolant out.Remove the two hoses. On the firewall side at the blower motor, remove the 3 nuts. From inside the car, remove the 3 cables and the connector from the resistor.Remove the defroster tubes. On the right side of the heater box, remove the bolt at the support.Slightly lower then give a tug,the heater will come out.Place on a work bench and remove the small screws.open the case to remove the heater core.My suggestion would be also to not only replace the heater core, but give her a good cleaning and replace the foam seals inside and lube the moving parts also. You should be able to get a rebuild kit but you also can hit the local hardware store and got a package of thin foam and easily make then.Attach with some contact cement and reassemble.I do this on a lot of late model vehicles which you can't get gaskets or seals. You can buy the blower motor to firewall seal and cowl seal readily also.Easy fix!
