Tried to keep throttle rod setup but the Edelbrock pro flo 4 fuel injection needs cable to fit, also they mention using the throttle rod can cause issues when engine torques and may cause throttle to not idle.
Bought a new off brand kit off EBay, for I think $65.00 plus tax a year or 2 ago, name brand Lokar was about $300.00 and looks the same.
Hopefully it fits and goes in without too much trouble.
In the 90's I put a cable throttle in when I installed a TPI setup on my 327. The setup worked well. For the gas pedal I used a pedal from a '88 to '94 truck. I had to bend the linkage at a right angle to get it to fit by using an oxy-acetylene torch. I got the cable from a TPI Camaro, then cut the rectangular hole in the firewall. The system worked well for the 15 years that I used the TPI on that truck. I pulled it all out, and now the truck has a LS swap in it.

Yep - if the firewall shape has a nice flat spot, the 88-94 fullsize truck pedal is a nice cable piece that can be adapted.

I have that style of pedal in my Blue truck. It was easy to put in without an engine in the way. Looks like it will be a bear to do with the engine in place.
It does look hard, also I think a jigsaw with small metal cutting blade is needed to cut the rectangle shape for the piece on accelerator pedal to move through firewall, Sawzall is probably too big for a small cut.
Was thinking of making a bracket for this pedal to mount to, instead of cutting though the firewall for the rectangle shape, then use existing hole in firewall to pass throttle cable though.
However this may push the accelerator closer to driver and lose some leg/foot room, so might not be great idea.
Got the original accelerator pedal popped off the 2 ball stud mounts, without breaking it.
Just don't have a tight turn in the cable. I used the Lokar with my 327 into a '54 3600 and need to redo due to a tight 90 degree turn. In cold weather she doesn't go right back to idle quick if you bump the throttle, it's embarrassing racing the engine for no reason!
The idea making a bracket would not work in this situation.
Going to be tough, and when tightening bolts and nuts, will need someone inside the cab to use Allen wrench to hold bolt heads while I’m under truck using socket.
Or somehow try to do it alone, either way can’t drive truck until it has new accelerator pedal and cable.

I forgot to update, just bought a short section of all thread rod, spent time carefully bending it a little at a time to arch over the Edelbrock fuel rails.
Took a few hours to get it right and not rub/bind on the bottom of the chrome air cleaner base.
Verified proper WOT by watching the gauges on the Edelbrock pro flo 4 app on my phone, throttle position goes from 0% up to 100%.
Have taken the truck for a couple of runs inside neighborhood but not on main roads yet.
The tires I bought for the truck are shot, bought them new summer of 2002 and at probably 30 mph the truck shimmies and steering feels sloppy, getting new tires next.
I am doing a 62 with a SB350 (1970 block) with a Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 port fuel injection, 700R4, ford 9" 3.90 gears with posi. are you happy with the Pro Flo 4? Would love to chat about the accelerator setup you have..
Yes it starts up everytime like a modern vehicle, even if it’s sat a month, I just turn to key to on and let the fuel pump prime a few seconds and it fires up instantly.
The engine idles much smoother than with a carburetor, watching the engine itself, it used to shake a lot more, the exhaust smells much cleaner, and the torque is better from take off even at light throttle, just got new tires and windshield and rear glass, so still have not driven on a long trip.
Sometimes when it’s started up cold and put it in reverse engine dies, but it fires back up and goes from park to reverse fine without dying, it’s still self learning.
Running open element chrome air breather you can sometimes hear a hissing sound, I think it’s idle control valve or something, have read if you use the air cleaner enclosed with snorkel hose to front of vehicle this sound goes away.
I’m really happy with the pro flo 4, planning on making this a daily driver for short trip’s unless get 700R4 and A/C, then it could take longer trips.
When I put a TPI motor in my '65 PU, I used an 88-98 truck pedal assembly and then a Camaro cable. I had to bend the last 2" of the pedal rod at a 90 degree angle to make it fit right and to get the right amount of pedal travel for the TPI throttle body. System worked great for 10 years before I put it away for restoration (then sold it). To get the stock GM cable to fit, I just had to cut a rectangular hole in the firewall at the right spot, and everything just clipped in place.
