Hi All,
A buddy of mine owns a 1972 Camaro. He is interested in installing an 8-track player. However, we have no clue what a 1972 8-track play looks like. Does anyone have a picture of one?
Thanks!

Thanks, Jay!
I'd like to see a picture of one installed.
But further research has reveled that from 1970½-1976, 8-Tracks were NOT factory installed and only available as a dealer installed option.

Would a 9-track unit cost less?

PROBLEM WITH OLD 8TRACK TAPES IS WHEN IT REACHES THE SPLICE IN THE TAPE IT USUALLY SEPERATES.

Yes, T@t. So there are Facebook groups dealing with 8-tracks. The advice there is to replace the splice/foam pads/foils BEFORE you play a newly acquired 8-track. This requires you to crack open the cartridge (scary!!!). There is a guy who will perform this service for $3 per tape --> I sent him the ones I have --> done!!
I will post pictures of my 8-track player in my 1967 Impala in the 1967-69 Full-size Chevy forum.
