WITHOUT USEING GOOGLE , I RECALL IT WAS A CHARGER.
I WOULD JUST BE GUESSING ON THE # OF HUB CAPS.
THE STANG DID WIND UP HERE IN NJ,IT WAS A DAILY DRIVER UNTIL THE CLUTCH GAVE OUT,THEN IT JUST SAT.

Not intended as a trick question. I reviewed the clip again and the name on the roof pillar says "Charger" not Challenger as I originally thought.

However, still wanting to know how many wheel covers you see flying off.

Yes, since the Challenger is an aero car anyway

Not to change subject but on Terminator 2 John Conner or is it Connor, is able to upshift his dirt bike for what seems like 50 gears lol.

At the time I was about the same age as the kid in the movie, and rode a old dirt bike, on the scene where he is in L.A. river being chased I thought “his Honda CR doesn’t have that many gears!”

The Charger was a 'B' body. The Challenger was an 'E' body 'pony' car.

VERY difficult to confuse the two.

I counted four including the two at the end. There is a web site that counts eight!

I think 8 is probably closer to being correct. Especially if you count the 4 that flew off when the car exploded. The next question is where did they get that 10 speed transmission in the Mustang?

Then they sold it for 3.4 Million.
It didn't even have posi or whatever Ford calls it.
I got me a Mustang Fastback(67) had it for 34 years.
But unless I hit the lottery that riding shotgun in a'68 Charger RT is as close as I'm gonna get.
That movie chase scene is the best I ever saw.
Reappearing VW's and hub caps notwithstanding.

It was called Traction Lok although Detroit Locker was also available in 1970 in a 4.30 ratio
Both those cars were doing the one tire fire
Too bad the matchup wasn’t between a 68 1/2 Cobra Jet and a Hemi RT

I am picturing a mustang horse with a 10 speed tranny strapped to its belly gotta use your imagination for that one.

when asking Questions its related to van I own: 1987 GMC 3/4 ton G2500 vandura, V6, No AC, standard length. 3speed trans(no overdrive).

Someone told me the "French Connection" chase scene is looped the same way. But I can't vouch for it myself.
