Question; I was showing a low tire pressure on the right front tire. In checking them I found that tire was ok but the left front was the one that was low. How do I get the monitors back in sync so they read the right tire.

What model and year? It's probably not an S10. Other models require starting a learn procedure. Air must be taken out of the tire, then inflated back up.

A high line scanner can reset most tpm systems, some vehicles have an onboard relearn function also.

I never gave this a thought, but would rotating the tires be my problem and if so how do I get them back in sink

It could easily be the problem. As to getting them back to where the computer thinks they are, force any given tire to go low. It should trigger the computer to tell you. Put some masking tape on the tire to mark which one the computer thinks it is and then move them accordingly. Air each one back up to operating pressure as you go and you’re good.

I'm trying to recall if this vehicle has tire pressure sensors or if the low tire pressure is through the ABS system, calculating fewer revolutions per mile on a low tire?

I do not see any reference to the year, make or model in the thread.

That model has pressure sensors in the wheels. The low frequency signal it sends are picked up by a receiver nearby. From what I know, driving a distance it will pick up the signal from the sensor and know the pressure.

Unfortunately, GM went to a more difficult way to reset tire pressure monitors in '15. There are two levels. Base and UpLevel displays. The UpLevel has steering wheel buttons. You'll need a basic TPMS tool. The tool will activate the sensor for reading. A simple activation tool will work.

Wow - good to know. My Mercedes will relearn the tire pressure if you move the wheels. Mine are different size front/rear but it has a receiver for each sensor.

My Acadia has a semi difficult one. You have activate the system to learn. Once in learn mode, you have to remove and add air to each wheel. I'll be doing it soon. The same tires read differently on the instrument cluster and aftermarket radio. I added the buttons for cluster readings. Plus added buttons to add "tow" mode.

Good info to know Redspad. Thanks for following up. I’ll probably buy that tool. Cheap enough to keep in a tool bag.
