Has anyone fit a 17-20in wheels in the rear with stock wheel wells ? I am coming down to the point where I have to replace mine due to rotting , but was wondering if i should tub it out so I can fit a bigger wheel in the rear or if the stock wells will handle it ?

Any insight and help will be appreciated !

I have 18's on front and back of my car. No problem. I've seen bigger wheels on other cars but can't tell you if additional work had to be done to make them fit. If you have dual exhaust coming out of the rear, you may not want to go bigger than 18.

Hope this helps some.

The wheel diameter doesn't matter one damn bit! The thing that does matter is the tire diameter.

If you have a 26" dia tire and a 15" dia wheel, you have a 5.5" sidewall.

If you have a 26" dia tire and a 20" dia wheel, you have a 3" sidewall.

Thats the way it always works. PERIOD!

Wheel width and backspace matter, so pay attention to those.

I have 255/50ZR-17 tires on the rear. No problem with the tubs but not easy to change a tire.

295-20's on my 61. I think the aspect ratio is 35 or 40. I don't remember
