Any other way to remove the steering wheel on 1948 Chevy sedan besides the standard pullers?
I've tried 3 different types and they are cracking the base of the wheel.
(Pic is just for reference not actual wheel)

Whatever you use, leave the nut threaded on partway until the wheel is loose. There are some old Codgers, everywhere I go with chipped upper teeth. They swear that that is the reason.

If you can get someone else to pull with some gentle pressure, it will help
