Is a t5 strong with perhaps 4.11:1 or so rear gear for towing/hauling? If not, what's a good, readily available transmission with 4, 5, or 6 gears that has overdrive?

I guess is doesn't have to be GM since a t5 will need an adapter plate anyway, but if you recommend a different trans please consider it would have to go with a t5. RayCow explained to me extensively how he made a few backing plates from scratch but he had access to a machine shop. So I guess it's not a hard stop but ideally minimal cost and effort to turn a 235 into a yoke for a driveshaft and at least 4 gears (and [not necessarily plus]overdrive) is what I want to accomplish

Needs to be decently durable
