I am trying to identify a HEI distributor with a stamped number 1103357 followed by 8C16 - I reckon the last four numbers are a date code, but have found conflicting interpretations for the numeric values but the C likely means March - the ICM number is 990 8B23 and the Vac can is stamped 57 and a stenciled number 242, any help in a application or a site would be great, so far all the sites have numbers that skip the '3357' part.

Try this site. The part number is obsolete but it appears to work in 1978 model year 5.0 Liter V8 engines of General Motors.

Thanks! I have not seen this page before - the Delco-Remy site describes this P/N as CCW(!) application - I will continue my search, and I am grateful for the help.

There is nothing magic with the part, other than the plug for the power to the HEI and the weights on the centrifugal advance.

Line up the same era small block distributor and be done with it.
