99 Chevy k1500, extended cab, 5.7, GMT 400, 4x4, Fabtech 5" lift. Tires are 265/75 R16 (OD 32" OW 10.50") stock aluminum rims. Had the front end aligned when I put tires on aprox 1500mi ago. I just noticed a groove (1/16"+ deep and 1/2" wide) worn on the front left tire from rubbing on the upper control arm. On the passenger (rh) side there is 1/4"-3/8" gap between the upper control arm & tire. The upper ball joints are the bolt in type (4 nuts & bolts)
Bad upper ball joint or what?
Thanks

rubs all the time or only when turning? might need to grind a bit off the arm

70 L camino, grampa engine, g-force 5 spd, road rage suspension. Pray first before all else fails.

Have you checked the BJ's yet? Does that lift use a knuckle or control arm replacement that might be interfering with a stock offset wheel/tire?

Weird because I've been running 285/75/16 on my '94 K1500 for years....stock lift and stock wheels.

Hey I have a 99 tahoe with a 6" fab tech lift and I have the exact same went to put stock wheels on for winter and noticed my driver's side tire rubs on my upper control arm but I have a 1/4" gap on the passenger side wondering if you ever found the issue if it happened to be a bad ball joint or just the way the lift is with stock wheels I'm just gonna put my offset wheels back on but if it's something I can fix I'd definitely like to know if anyone has came to a solution on what's causing this
