I installed a Classic Air setup on my ‘58 Impala and the lines for the A/C go through the radiator support just above the battery on the passenger side. So in order to take the battery out I will have to disconnect the A/C lines, then recharge the A/C system. Has anyone ever mounted the battery on the left side of the car, and is there a battery mount available for the left side? I have the battery in the trunk for now, but I really don’t like that. Any advice or pictures of a left side of the engine bay mounting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bob

What are your objections to having it in the trunk? That is really the best place for it in your circumstance. Just be sure it is fastened securely to the floor and covered with a marine type battery box so nothing gets across the poles. In my younger stupid days I had a battery in the trunk uncovered and a lug wrench bounced on top of it. Blew a hole about two inches wide in the top of the battery.

I would leave it in the trunk. You might be able to find a battery holder out of an older Cadillac (1965-1978) that would fit. Some of those cars came with a battery holder on both sides of the car.

Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

I used this box from Ebay and Speedway Motors. Worked great.
