Installed new Edelbrock 1906 AVS2 with adaptor plate (#2696) on a stock 350 in 1977GMC pickup. Looking for recommendations on spacer to decrease heat affecting the carb. And, would the spacer be placed between the carb and adaptor or between the adaptor and the manifold. I’ll appreciate any recommendations-thanks.

An full open spacer is not recommended. My 1406 Edelbrock is bolted to a four hole swirl spacer.
Part number: Edelbrock 2696. It's a little thick. Our trucks do have plenty of room. Do you plan to keep the stock air cleaner intake? Max size under the hood is a 4" filter with an adapter.
