Looking for insight on fitting the upper cowl vent panel.

There only seems to be the 7 screws on the leading edge to hold the panel in place.

This allows the rear edge (next to windshield glass) to move somewhat easily and is currently not a great fit to the fender.

Q. Right now I have some metal to metal contact between cowl panel and fenders, but I assume its supposed to fit freely with a small gap.

Q. Do the lower windshield trim clips have anything to do with holding the rear edge of the cowl panel in place (I don't have them in hand yet, but they have to be installed before the cowl is bolted down)

Q. #6 shows what looks like to be a foam seal on each side. I can't seem to find any reproductions for these, only the front hood to cowl seal.... Would that have be a semi-rigid foam seal that helped hold the cowl to fender mating in place?

Thanks

Dan

From what I recall, it is a press fit against the windshield with a piece of trim to take up the gap. The part may have a slight bend which is holding it higher than designed.
