Would like some options on the best over all gear ratio to run on
my 56 with a 350 c.i.d. and a 200 4r transmission ? I now have a
3.55 in the rear but is in need of a rebuild .
Any information would be greatly appreciated . Paul

We're running Richmond 3.73's with a 700 R4 in our '57. The rear wheel O.D. is 27.5" and we turn about 2300 rpm at 70 mph. We're running a 355 sbc with 325 H.P. She sounds good and pulls hard. We like this gear size.

Pouring money between the wheels.

Don't think I would change anything. A 3:55 gear with an OD sounds great to me.

I realize you've already decided, but I'm using 3.55 with mine as well.
