On my 2019 Yukon the front console power outlets are only on (hot) when ignition is on which is fine for a dash cam but not for other devices.

With my previous Yukons and Tahoes the front console power outlets were always on so a phones or other devices could be re-charged while I was out of the vehicle.

On the left (driver’s side) Instrument Panel Fuse Block there are positions 5 & 6 which is really one large shared port with 3 shared spades, the middle spade powers the console power outlets, the left spade is temporary power only on when the ignition is on and the right spade is constant battery power on. The 50-amp fuse only has 2 ports so it can only share 2 spades, the front console power outlets spade and either in the left ignition on only position or right constant battery power on only position.

So, I moved the 50-amp fuse from the left (ignition only on) position to the right (constant battery on) position which leaves the left (ignition only on) spade open. I plugged-in an insulated Packard 56 Series female connector wired to my dash cam.

So, now my dash cam only comes on while driving and my console power outlets are always on to re-charge devices.

GM made these vehicles very user friendly.
