I replaced the temperature gauge in my 1972 c10 truck and when I turn on the ignition the needle immediately goes all the way to hot side. opposite of what it should be. Is it possible to put the resister in backword.

unplug the sensor and see what happens

Bob ,thanks for your input. I found I did not have a good ground at the gauge. Working correctly now
