As I get to the point on my 57 project where I can even think about putting some primer onto fixed parts, I got to thinking about which brand to use so that I'm consistent from primer to top coat. The plan is to paint the car Adobe Beige over Sierra Gold.

What companies, PPG, Dupont, Martin Senour, etc., are able to produce a decent version of these colors?

The car is going to be driven and enjoyed, so not looking for tip-top of the line paint, but good enough quality to last and look good. Considering both single stage or basecoat/clear coat options at this point, but that kind of depends on if those colors are available. Also, was the original Sierra Gold a metallic?

Thanks for the help. I thought I'd check with the experts here before going to the local NAPA or PPG store and asking about 60+ year old colors.

Does it still count as a "barn find" when it's your barn?

Can't help much on the newer paints. Repainted mine about 38 years ago and we used lacquer back then. Sierra Gold is Metallic, Adobe Beige is not.

He who dies with the most toys doesn't necessarily win, but had more fun getting to the finish line.
