Does anyone have pictures of how the weather strip installs on the trunk lid? the piece I have kinda looks like a "V" with one "leg" longer than the other? This is on a 1954 Bel Air 2 door Sedan

1953 Fisher Body Service News on installation of trunk weatherstrip....1954 would be the same.

The curved sort of knife edge lip points outward when installed correctly. That's what the factory did, and what Steele Rubber says is correct.

For what it's worth, on my Fleetline (not a 54 but completely original), the body seal and the lid seal overlap about an inch.

Great instructions on installing trunk weatherstripping. Did not overlap the strips but seems to seal fine. My next project on my 54 Two Ten 2 dr is install the weatherstripping around the doors; however, I can not find good directions and obviously don't find to mess this up. Any directions/guidance is appreciated. Randy

Randy, These, I think, will be the most helpful scans. Although they are both 1953 information, what is presented applies also to the 1954 models. The first is an explanation of how the door weatherstrip profile differs from that of 1952 and its correct orientation. The second is a step by step instruction on how to install the 1953 door weatherstrips.
