Hi everyone. It’s been about 15 years sense I posted anything to the truck forum! Where is the time going! My TPI conversion was getting old and very tired so I picked up a LS4.8/4l60 cheap. I have it in place and thought I would share a picture.

I have my driveline sorted. I had to move/cut and weld the linkage a little to make the column shift correctly. Next I need to find headers that will work. I ran factory manifolds on the L89 TPI motor but the 2004 LS truck manifolds will hit my frame. Anyone running a LS in a 60-62 have a header recommendation?

I could not view the pictures but sounds interesting.
C5 corvette LS1 exhaust manifolds might fit better than truck manifolds, but not sure.
If they fit might get a set cheap, most Corvette guys put on headers.
Where does the manifold hit the frame?

Depending on whose motor mounts you used, Doug Thorley Headers part# THY-322Y-C are designed specifically for the 61-66 C-10 LS swap. My '66 has ECE mounts and the DTH Product Development Dept used it as the guinea pig for their design of these headers. You could call them and inquire regarding motor mounts fitment.
I seriously doubt that those shorty center dump block huggers shown in your Amazon link will fit.

My motor mounts are the factory v8 pedestal type that mount to cross member and not the frame. I have a set of DT headers on one of my Camaro’s and love them. On impulse last night I ordered the cheap block huggers before I saw your post. I put a ruler on pictures and compared to my truck with a tape measure and I think they will fit. Maybe... If they don’t I will talk to DTH. Thanks!

LMC Truck has a set of block hugger headers that say they will work. My neighbor just ordered a set for his '65 short box. Haven't received them yet, so I can't verify they'll work yet.

One other thing that you might want to consider. When I initially did my swap I ran into the same problem with the large cast iron manifold flanges and no way to modify them. Without notching the frame which I wasn't gonna do they were out and at that time there were no off the shelf headers for the trucks available. Instead, I found a pair of the welded tube manifolds that came on the very early LS1 that was in Camaros and Firebirds. We cut the large flanges off of these and welded standard size 2 1/2" flanges on to them. They have a rear dump like the truck manifolds.

That looks like a clean solution. I see you were able to keep the low mounted ac unit. I don’t think that’s an option for my X frame. If I remember correctly it’s a few inches tighter in the front than the 63-66 coil frames.

You might try a set of Camaro manifolds. On my 6T Biscayne, the 5.3 manifolds hit the frame.
I found a set of Camaro manifolds pretty cheap, so that's what I ended up using.
Fit like a glove on the car frame. Might work on your truck frame as well.
Griff
I found a couple of pictures of the Camaro manifolds installed.

Solo,
I can't get the pictures to load. I would love to see a pic of the install.
We love pictures here on CT.

Will you have enough room to mount the factory AC compressor in the factory location. From here it looks doable.
If I can do it on mine, it's going to happen. I cannot afford the sky-high prices for an aftermarket front belt drive system.

Sadly no. I will be using a high mount conversion for the factory pump.

The block hugger headers arrived from Amazon and they look like they will work. Little tight on the PS but I could dimple or notch frame if needed but I don’t think it will be required.
Plug access is ok but boot shields will be needed.
