Big news up this way is the trial of the police officers in the death of George Floyd. A lot of security and protests I'm sure it makes the national news.. I am hoping our justice system works they way it was designed and that all involved in the trial will accept the trial's outcome. We will soon see, the trial is supposed to last two weeks.

I hope it’s over quickly and justice is served. The sad thing is that no matter what the outcome is, people will use it as an excuse for bad behavior.

That's a sad but true picture of our society today. I don't know about you guys, but if my dad got wind of me carrying on like those trouble makers, I would have been in BIG trouble....no matter how old I was.

I just wish that those fighting for justice on both sides would know what the real problem was.
Eugenics.
its not a white or black issue. its about a group of people who think they are better than everyone else.
I am facing the same problems as they are and I am white. but I was classed unworthy by eugenics standard the same standards applied to them.
Unfortunately I am at the top of their list of type to eliminate.
Emotions are way to high and objectivity and logic has gone right out the window.
I believe this is one of those cases that is never going to get the right outcome no matter how they rule. because its not addressing the real problem
Eugenics ideology. Which created, racism, sexism, feeble minded Medical definition of disability, ageism nationalism. etc.
the most cruelly treated of all these groups was people who got labeled as disabled under medical definition of disability. which was created by Eugenics.
as a basis to decide who to execute without cause.
See USA was discussing executing people like me in gas chambers plans were drawn up etc. Germany was on the US eugenics commission and had been kicked off when they didn't agree with USA version of perfect ideal human.
Germany borrowed our designs and perfected the gassing process on people like me.
They didn't do this to blacks because blacks was deemed worthy labor to advance civilization of Eugenics design.
Eugenics went underground but never went away after what germany did.
This is why you only ever hear racism or sexism or ageism etc today because they removed the eugenics specific language but a zebra is still a zebra when it tries to change its stripes.

YUP. The same people will...,
If he's found guilty?? RIOT!
If he's found guilty of a lesser charge?? RIOT!
If he's found innocent?? RIOT!
I have watched quite a bit of the trial live on c span.
He has a VERY able attorney!
I'm trying to treat it as if I were
on the jury.
Ignoring past or present "reports" and
withholding judgement until the evidence
portion concludes.

I think the defendant is going to get off. It's too unclear what the effect all the drugs had on him. I do know that Mpls is on edge. The national Guard is already patroling business areas. I dont work down there anymore, But had to haul plywood down and do "guard" duty the second nite of the riots. I feel bad for the old people and children and business owners in Mpls they cant just get up and leave too easy... maybe it will rain

I think the defendant is going to get off.
A lot of information on BOTH sides
has not been proven thus far.
That's why I'm waiting
on the actual evidence.
I'm guessing the defense should
begin next week sometime.

Ok, say the defendant gets off. What about the 27 million the city gave to the family ? maybe they should have waited till after the trial. Why would anyone give the money out before the trial was over? They still havent found a way to cover all the damage from the riots Really insulting I think to those who suffered from the riots

The latest witness is a Pulmonary Specialist, who testified the death was caused by a lack of oxygen, and even points out the "moment" of death while Chauvin has his knee on the guys neck, in the video played. I think Chauvin is toast now. His knee was still there for 3-1/2 minutes afterwards. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Agreed. I think Chauvin is in trouble too. But I would not have made a good juror as I thought he was guilty before the trial. He just seems to be one of those "walking tall wannabes" who was showing the rookie group he came upon how it was done. Like he was a big game hunter posing with his trophy. He knew he had done wrong when he called his supervisor and gave an exagerated report to him about the arrest. I don't look forward to the verdict no matter how it lands. If he had done his job correctly, the city would have waited to fire him and as mentioned not paid the civil settlement. They felt it was cheaper anticipating a loss based on what was shown than waiting for a verdict and the price going up. Just my opinion...not worth much.

Cheaper to pay the 27 mil than the damage from further more intense riot would caused.

Some have been saying that if Chauvin doesn’t get the death penalty, there will be hell to pay. Truth is he won’t. He can’t because Minnesota hasn’t had the death penalty in effect since 1911. Please be smart, people.

right on trucker.
It would be gross miscarriage of justice just to give this officer the death penalty as a special case singling him out.
It also demonstrates those trying to hang him don't really care about justice. And that its really more about revenge against a perceived scapegoated antagonist. .

I am going to stick it in here to show this is not always black and white.
1990 I was abused by father who manipulated a social worker to wrongly put me in a PSYCH ward. I was a minor. he did not want me to move back to mothers so he wouldn't have to continue paying child support.
I was their for the max their insurance allowed. while I was their they rolled me in a 6 inch heavy mat and three people sat on me I was only 16 and scrawny NO muscle.
It was so tight it stopped my ability to expand my chest I croaked out I couldn't breath and it wasn't like I was going to be able to unroll the mat. but they continued to sit on me.
I was extremely lucky I did not die.
the real kicker I didn't do anything wrong other than not go to sleep. gee
point is it was not because he was black. in the moment mistakes happen. and it isn't till 20 20 hind sight people get crucified for a mistake. The real problem is proving he had intent to do harm. THAT is the biggest key they need.
PS the social worker that my father manipulated was so embarrassed they apologized to my mother but was too ashamed to apologize to me directly for missing the abuse.
and failing to listen to the few words I did tell them before shutting up that he was being manipulated.
