Trying to ID the alternator on my Chevy ll. It is a 350 about a 1972 engine. Need a new Alternator as the bearing is real noisy on the one on the engine.
11 0208 That I can read on the housing. The third number is missing.

If it came with the engine then it is a 10SI. The plug will go in the side of the case and the connector terminals will be end to end (- -) not parallel ( | | ).

The 10SI alternator was used from the late 60's into the 80's on almost all GM cars and light trucks. Ask for one from a 75 Camaro or 75 full-size car and you'll get what you need. If the clocking is wrong, take out the case bolts and rotate ONLY the front part of the case leaving the back part of the case and the stator together. Just put it on it's back and carefully pull the front part of the case towards the pulley enough to let it rotate and you won't mess up the brushes.

Thanks for the replies. Went to Oreilly's and matched it up. Turns out it is a 12 SI. Didn't know about clocking the housing. I was able to loosen the wires and get it connected.
