Hey Guys, I have a 55 with a 327 that I'm looking to swap the Borg Warner T10 to a Turbo 350. I have both a long shaft and short shaft found. I think most run with the short but is there any problems going with the long shaft? Are the tail splines the same on the Borg as on the 350? I was going to go with the Lokar 8 or 9" linkage shifter. Thanks in advance for any help you could give me.

Welcome to the site.

The short shaft TH350 is the same length as your B-W 4 speed. So your present driveshaft will work with it.

But, the B-W transmission has coarse output splines, same as stock 55-57 transmissions. The TH350 has fine splines. You will need to find a front yoke for your driveshaft that has 27 splines and the same Spicer 1310 u-joint that you now have. 60s/early 70s yokes had that and are available in the aftermarket. The yoke you need will look exactly the same as your old one except for the spline count.

Pretty much any floor shifter for a TH350 will work, including the Lokar.

If you now have a stock bellhousing and stock engine mounts, you will need a mounting kit that's sold in the aftermarket that will connect between your original frame brackets and the TH350 transmission. You will need to use a block mount starter with the 327 if you have a bellhousing mount starter now.

Thanks, good info. Is there enough clearance between the transmission and bottom of the floor pan for a Lokar case mount shifter or should I use a floor mount?
