Hey y'all! Hi everyone. After a few false starts, I'm finally restoring my granddaddy's 1982 Chevy C10 Silverado with a 350. It's pretty much stock and has been sitting since he passed about 15 years ago. I put a new battery in it in 2014 and new tires a few months ago. That's the extent of it's maintenance the last decade. That being said, I'm about to pull it into the workshop and start on it.
The water pump is leaking from the weep hole, so I thought I'd start there replacing the following:
Water Pump and gasket
Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
Thermostat and gasket
PS and Alt belts
Do I need gasket sealant/maker stuff or just the gasket itself?
Air Conditioning doesn't work. Should I just leave that belt off?
Thanks ahead of time. I haven't worked on an old school 350 in about 35-40 years!

Water pumps use gaskets. You can use a little tacky form a seal on it. Put a vacuum on the A/C system. If it holds vacuum, charge it up. Sitting for so long will cause it to leak somewhere. If it does hold vacuum, replace the valve stem seals. If R12 leaked, it leaked out at the valve stems.
Flush the radiator, heater core, and engine with water. It probably has a lot of rust in there. Is the radiator copper?
Fresh oil will be good too.

Thanks. I'll change the oil and plugs too.

Next, bleed out all the brake fluid. Check for leaks. Use fresh Dot 3 fluid. Check the transmission pan for oil leaks.
