When looking up a replacement battery for my 2019 Yukon at Advanced Auto Parts I found this cautionary statement this,
“REQUIRES PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION: DO NOT attempt to install batteries in this vehicle.;”
Why would this be?

Gm thought is would be smart to mount a fuse block ontop of the battery
Looks like you have to disconnect about 5-8 power cables not just +&-

I also recommend that you do not drink the contents of the battery during this process.

Of course, there are the two support brackets, one above and one beside the battery that need to be unbolted and removed to start with. Then, you only need to disconnect the negative and positive post cables and unsnap (clip) the battery’s fuse block with all its cables from the battery top and swing it out of the way. Been there, done that.
But I was wondering if there was some computer memory or other electrical issue that needed to be maintained during the swap. I have swapped one before and did not notice any issues afterwards so wondered why the precaution and if I screwed up????

Its not as simple as just replacing a bad battery anymore. One wrong move could result in costly repairs to the electronics in the vehicle.
When testing or charging a battery in a vehicle that is in for service or is part of the dealership’s inventory, it’s critical to get an accurate diagnosis of the battery’s state of health before making a determination about replacing it.
Need a special machine like this

My wife had a BMW X3 SUV. Same deal. The battery was in the trunk, under the floor and had a million things in the way just to reach it. The real reason for the caution about professional installation was that, even after installing the new battery (which anyone really could do), the car's computer had to be "informed" that a new battery was present by the mechanic. Apparently, the car was too stupid to know it had a new battery.
Without telling the computer a new battery was installed, it would continue to fail and issue the same trouble codes every time you tried to use the car. The dealer wanted $400 to tell the car that it had a new battery. 
She got rid of it instead and bought a Jeep - been happy ever since!
