Hello all,
So I purchased an all original 55 bel air with the intent of making it a daily driver. I will keep all the original parts on a pallet, but will replace quite a few.
We plan on a "Connect and Cruise LS3(430hp)/4L70-E", Currie 9" With 3.0 gears. Disk brakes all around. A Ridetech StreetGrip kit, someones A/C kit, and someones power steering setup.
I have only purchased the car at this point.
Any suggestions you folks may have are appreciated!
Thanks,
Dale

Looks like a great start. Sounds like the right systems to go for.

I hope so, still trying to figure it all out. Like what brakes with which wheels, what steering gear, hydro or electric, if hydro 20:1 or 14:1, do I need headers or do I have enough clearance with the stock manifolds.
Other questions in my head:
Should I go coil over or stay with the leaf's
Do I need a in tank pump, or is an external system quiet enough.
So before I go on anything I will hopefully have a good understanding of the finished product.
I'm reading posts and I appreciate everyone's knowledge here.

Nice car, nice plan. If you do go with an overdrive transmission, put some lower than 3.00 gears in the back. Say 3.70, you'll enjoy the car a lot more, and it will still run well on the highway.

Thanks for the reply!.
We have been changing our build plan a bit, and have decided to put a new frame under the body. Looks like I'm leaning toward the Roadster Shop REVO setup. We are also going to change our powertrain choice to an LT1/8L90-e connect & cruise setup. I'm going to leave the rear gear at 3.00 for the 8L90 since it has a stump puller 4.56 first gear. With the rear tire being a 245/50/17 that will allow an 80 mph cruise at 2000 rpm.
Still tweaking this.

Good! You have to look at both ends-effective first gear and final drive. The 8-series transmission changes decision on rear gear ratio. You're planning it right.
