Hello and thanks for accepting me. Im trying to remove the front drive shaft in my 97 Suburban, but it wont budge. Does anyone have any tips? Does the wheels have to be free?

Howdy and welcome.

There’s really nothing special about it. The slip joint should let the shaft collapse enough to get it out of the yoke on either end.

If the shaft is tight (to turn) or will not turn, you will have to jack up front end to relieve pressure.
If it spins but will not pop out you will likely have to pry and tap between the yoke and ujoint
