I was at Kissimmee last week. Virtually EVERYTHING sold for way more money than they were worth.

I bought a vehicle there last, NO way I could swing those prices this year. Just me may be.

NADA puts the value at $50,000.00 tops. And that would probably be numbers matching.

I was watching and as it rolls up to the block they cut to the tent for a another bunch of white mustangs before a commercial break. So as usual watching from home we only get to see the same old Ferraris, mustangs, etc.

My wife and I caught a little bit of the auction also and we were thinking the same thing. We couldn’t believe the price some of these cars were going for. I think it would be cool to go to one of these auctions one day but they are clearly not in the average guys price range it seems. Although I’m sure they have cars that go for much less but just don’t show them on tv.

And I also agree with the comment above. I usually stop watching after seeing yet another Mustang or Camaro and I’m a Mustang fan and owned 2 in the past.

cware, This is the way it was for me years back, no way could I afford Barret-Jackson stuff. So I started looking at lower end auctions. Mecum was decent, as I've said before, I bought a 65ss there last year. Price was a little more than I anticipated, but that is always the way it seems to go. Still it was one I could swing (just). This year, no way. A friend of mines take on this is, people are scared, economy, politics, what ever, and this is a safe haven, investment. Just my two cents worth. (that's all I had left after my purchase!). Mecum was great to work with I will say that, everything went smooth for me.

The 'good deals' happen on Wed/Thurday. By the time Saturday rolls around they are only selling their best cars. No deals then. Its a great event to attend (only 20 miles or so from Orlando) even if you are not buying a car.

The most reasonable prices are the auctions in Kansas City.

yep, pretty crazy money. I think they just might have a little more disposable income than most of us. It's just proof positive of what I have always said, I am a poor man in a rich man's game. but I get the feeling I am not alone. Having said all that it is a beautiful car to be sure. I think I have seen it in a magazine possibly. May even have the article with it in pictures somewhere. Might have to see if i can find it.

$385,000 for the '70 Chevelle. Yeah, an LS6. Yeah, a convertible. Yeah, a rockcrusher. Yeah, numbers matching. But sheesh!
