Listed in brochure as option on all full size Chevrolets. The 283 with 220hp came with 4 bbl and dual exhaust. I can not remember anyone having one back then. And never see factory 220hp cars at shows, at least the ones I have been too.

I only remember seeing one 220hp 283 that I can recall, and that was in a 66 Chevelle.
Actually forgot about that motor until mentioned here, think they were referred to as a 283 power pack.

Hi ! Mine is 283 with 220 CV : originally with a 4jet , directly imported in France in 1966, convertible 3 on the tree , AC but not power steering !( strange choice ...)

Thanks for your info. So , if I well understand , to get L 77 , you change the 2 GC with a 4 GC , it 's the only modif ? I you get 25 HP more ...

At least one more change. The L77 had dual 2 1/2" exhaust to the mufflers; 2" tailpipes.
There may be more. The cam shaft different? I did not look it up.
