I have a problem and was wondering if anyone else has experienced it. OK, I have a 54 chev that had original power brakes, but was not happy with the way it stopped, so I bought a disk conversion for the front. everything went together fine, then I bought a 7 inch booster and master cylinder and installed it. I had to extend the shaft to the booster. I used the original brake pedal and everything seemed to hook up right, but, now the problem I have no brakes and the pedal has no travel; solid movement. consequently no brakes. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Dumb question number 1, is the brake pedal completely unable to move? Because it takes some force to override a power booster when there is no vacuum (engine off). Press on brake pedal hard, it should move even with engine off. Or start engine and ensure you have vacuum, it should make easy to press pedal.
Dumb Question number 2, is the brake rod bottomed out or hitting on something such that there is no travel?

pedal is rock solid. I disconnected the master cylinder from the booster today to see if it moved, it didn't so now I am going to check the rod travel, I don't know what I'm missing. By the way I installed an vac. pump plus the engine vac.

There is no travel on the pedal, pedal is solid does not move the booster rod, or the rod into the master cylinder. I disconnected the MC from booster, and pressed the pedal and the rod moved , but still hard. I took the MC off and bench blead it , and there was a bit of air. so put it back on and still same. then went to vacuum lines, I have a vacum pump hook to engine vacuum, didn't seem to matter, with engine running if you really pressed on the brake pedal it brake the car but really hard pedal.

What components are in your system? Proportioning valve, adjustable bias valve, residual pressure valves for underfloor MC? How about a drawing? The more we know, the better.
