Happy New Year, everyone!
I finally got some time to play with my '40 Special Deluxe. After fighting with leaking Rochester B carburetor, I replaced it with a Carter W-1 I found in one of my grandfather's tool boxes. Oh....my....gosh....what a difference! Since I was now able to drive the car more than 100 yards from my driveway, I found a whole other problem. The 216 has a crack in the water jacket from the front to the back of the block on the driver's side, and it dumps water at operating temp. This is the perfect time to drop a 235 in it's place.
Here is my question: will the flywheel from the '40 216 bolt to the crankshaft of the '59 235? I have found two articles talking about this. One says it will work, the other says it won't. HELP!
