My '56 265 has been hard to start recently. I think the issue has been diagnosed. After my tech rebuilt the Rochester 4GC, it was still hard to start. After my '56 had been sitting several days he made a 'house call'. The choke was stuck, caused by the little piston in the choke cover binding. Once freed, it started immediately. Now I need a choke cover/piston that functions properly. The one now has been tweaked/cleaned as much as possible. If anyone can assist in my search for a new/properly functioning choke cover I'd be very grateful. My last resort is to buy a restored carburetor from www.caburetorcenter.com
Thx in advance!
Happy New New!

You might check the heat tube for deterioration inside the exhaust manifold. If it draws exhaust gasses up the tube to the piston, it will gum up the piston.
