I googled it, yeah sounds like it was,
this is from the article:
(thanks for the post, interesting to find that)
Fellow Delaware racer Alex Jarrell, who happened to be both a friend and a customer of Bill Jenkins, was a guiding force in George’s drag racing career. It was through this connection that George had Jenkins build the 225-hp 265 engine for the sedan delivery. George provided the block and heads while Bill supplied the rest. A complete Jenkins Competition–built small-block for your Chevy stocker, from carburetor to oil pan, could run as much as $2,500; not cheap by any means but for the money you were guaranteed an engine that ran below your class record.

I have a "long distance friend" in Pennsylvania who owns the ACTUAL 56 Sedan Delivery, Tokyo Rose, that was campaigned by Little George Cureton. I've sent lots of parts to him to use in the restoration (carbs, 2 X 4 intake manifold, dual point distributor, fenderwell headers, etc), but I've never met him face-to-face. Then, there is a "copy" of the Tokyo Rose Delivery that is raced in Brackets, and at the Tri-Five Chevrolet Nostalgia type drags. I wonder if that is the car that has the 210 HP on the fenders? That guy has also bought parts from me for "his" recreation. That recreation is done in the early paint scheme, in the color that lead to the name "Rose". The later version was blue with white stripes running front to back (or back to front), and that is the paint scheme the actual car is still in. As far as the horsepower figures go, there were a LOT that were available in 1956! 2 barrel carb with a manual trans was 162 HP, same engine with a Powerglide was rated at 170 HP (???), the 4 barrel carb version was 205 HP for both the manual and Powerglide cars, but the same engine in the Corvette was 210 HP, the early version of the dual quad engine was rated at 225 HP, and at about mid year, with different heads, intake, carbs, cam, etc, it was bumped up to 245 HP. My "265" will be the 225 HP version (but with more HP!), and all I need to do is assemble the thing; I have ALL the parts (except for the roller cam I plan on using thanks to the zinc and other oil additives taking a dive), just not the time. Now, where the 210 HP figure comes along on the Tokyo Rose, is either just a "mistake", just for "show", or is/was an NHRA "refactor" of the HP (I really doubt that one). But, Tokyo Rose was also always ran as a dual quad car (truck)(???). I personally think, if it's on the recreation car that is, then it's just for "show". The recreations engine is actually either a 327 or 350 (I forget which) with a single 4 barrel (Holley) carb, and a TH-350 trans. It also has a 57-64 Olds/Pont, 9.3", rear end in the car. Wheels are stock type, steel rims, painted white; the guys name is Mike "Z". At one of the Nostalgia, Tri-Five races, the Tokyo Rose Delivery, and the 56 Delivery Yoo Hoo Too of Wayne Jarel race; that match-up actually never occurred back in the day however, but it is an interesting match-up just the same, and the Rose took the win. See Yoo Hoo Too on Facebook for that cars build and recreation. The Tokyo Rose recreation is covered over on the HAMB (JalopyJournal.Com). I think I've got all this correct, but if not, it's only because of the so many changes that have happened since the Junior Stock drag racing days. Maybe Tom Ordway will jump in, as he's been at these same races with his 57, Model 150, 4 door sedan, done up in black and white as a cop car. These cars are definitely "colorful"! I didnt think about the Corvette hp. however, that would not have been legal in NHRA Stock anyway. so it might have been a 'game' to confuse people like me!!!
there is a current renewed interest in old JR.Stock class cars.
Las Vegas 'The Strip',is having a 'Geezer' class tomorrow for old guys and old cars.
anyway, thanks all for the replys.

Hi Rod, my 56 when I first purchased it was 99% stock original. It was a 210 sport coupe(2 door hardtop). One of about 18,000+ built. It was equipped with a 265 cu in rated at 205hp, 4 bbl carb, dual exhaust, 3 speed overdrive transmission with a 3.70 posi. I retained the 3.70posi and coupled it with a 327 and a Muncie M21 4 speed.I still have that 265 in the garage. Where the 210 HP came from I have no idea.
