I rebuilt the carb got it on the street and it ran like a champ till I got off the freeway and came to a stop. I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep from stalling. Got back home tinkered with float, timing. air/idle mixture. none of it worked and manifold vac never rose above 13 psi or so. When turning screws for air/idle the passenger side gave me zero change whether I seated it or took it out all the way. The drivers side screw I could stall the engine with adjustments. Any ideas on why one side would have no effect on the performance? 66 impala, 283, Rochester 2gv

Probably dirt in the passages.
You could also check the throttle plates as the transfer slots may be uncovered a bit too much.
