Hiya folks.

That rubber piece on the top of the firewall, the cowl I guess GM calls it... I guess it's supposed to keep the rain from falling on the engine when the hood is closed?

Hood to cowl weatherstrip <- what Steele Rubber calls it...

Mine disintegrated after 55 years for some reason. :D

So, anyone done this job before? Have any tips, things to look out for?

From eyeballing it, looks like there are some screws that come out, the metal plate that holds it in position... put the new rubber in, line up the rubber and the plate. Then I'm guessing I need to start some new holes through the rubber itself, and screw it all back together.

Any tips appreciated.
