I have vent visors on my truck that are the glued on type and I had to replace the door, how do I remove the old adhesive from the plastic vent so I can reinstall with new 3M tape

I usually use a flexible putty knife. It works very well for removal. I then use a razor blade to remove the old double faced tape. It is difficult to get it all the way off, but since I do bodywork for a living I get a lot of practice. If you can get an edge of the tape loose, stretching it makes it release from the surface. Works about 50% of the time. Be careful working with them off the vehicle. They get brittle over the years. I once got one off, cleaned, retyped and it cracked trying to put it back on. Don’t worry if the razor blade scratches the surface too much, the new tape will hide those, even from the front side.
