Greetings All: need to replace fuel pump in my 1984 Vette. Was told fairly easy since you can do without dropping the tank. Question please; look on utube at videos and they show guy replacing a black insulator sock as he called it, not the bottom filter screen, but slid over the pump housing. Bought new pump, Delphi brand #FE0115. No so-called insulator sock included. Called parts store, they check 3 different brands and none showing this part. Is it possible I don’t need this and should install as is? Not sure if my Vette has this as I haven’t pulled old pump yet. If it does, should I just install on new pump or just leave off this new pump? Instructions with pump not very helpful at all. There’s also a need to splice new connection wires as don’t think this will fit the OEM plug from what I’ve been told. Was told manufacturers change connections a lot. Again, hope this is a fairly easy job?
Any advice greatly appreciated.????
Sorry for the long post.
