51 2dr coupe. I noticed that my seat back on the drivers side is leaning back some. Is there any adjustment on the seat back itself to move it forward some? I didn't see any kind of a "stop" that would be adjusted as how far it leans back. Sure would help my back with a more upright position.

I don't remember any adjustments (it's been 10 years) but I found that the metal fatigues and cracks sometimes, especially at the hole where it pivots, allowing the seat to start leaning back. The only way I know of to know for sure is to take the covering loose so you can get a look at the frame and mechanism.
Get some input from someone that has been into one more recent than me before you tear into it- it has been a long time since I messed with one of those seats.

There should have been a hard rubber stop on the seat base where the back would stop when it is in place. That would keep the metal of the back from sitting on the metal on the frame. I think that piece is probably near a half an inch thick? If it is missing, as you said you saw no stop, then that may be your problem?

Same problem with my'51 coupe. I have not been able to find the stops. If I can find some hard rubber I will try to make a set.

I found some bulk hard plastic rod in 7/8 and 1". I also found 5/8 hard rubber round in lengths. I guess I'll try and make some. It doesn't look that hard to do and it's not critical any way.
