I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the regular forum. I'm about in the market for another car. I'm looking at spending $8,000 and hoping to purchase one as original as I can. Only because I think it'd be easier to figure things out if I could refer to the manual as I'm not that great with mechanical knowledge. I'm curious what $8,000 buys nowadays? Naturally it varies from place to place. I'm in KS and hoping to find one as close as I can in order to look at it in person.

Hoping to find a 1951 Fleetline 2 door.

Hi Dave,
I am also in Wichita, KS. I currently have a 1950 Fleetline finally finished after 21 years. I have an acquaintance that may be looking to sell a 49. I will check with him to see if he is still wanting to sell in case you are interested. I have attached a photo of my car as I have finally attended some shows. I would like to stay in contact with other 49-54 Chevy enthusiasts.

Hello!

Nice to know of a fellow member from Wichita. Hopefully I'll see you at a car show in the near future. I've been wanting to go again and take some pictures for inspiration until I can acquire my own. I'm really hoping I can find one within reasonable driving distance. While I like all the years of 49-52 I'm really hoping for a 51.

I haven't been a a while though so I'm not even sure where or when they are. Used to be one on Central and West but they moved.

I'm able to reply today. I'm unsure why I wasn't able to until now.

Nice talking with you.

David

David,

On Friday nights you can go to Hurts Doughnuts on 21st North and Ridge road. They have this weekly at bout 5 to 5:30 until 9. You can also go on Friday nights to WalMart on 53rd North and Meridian for the same kind of thing. Also go to KEYN Radio site and check the cruising calendar. I hope to get a chance to meet you some time.

Thank you! I didn't realize there was more than one on Friday. Very cool! I'm planning on making it to one of them on Friday. I'll hopefully see you at one in the future. I'm looking forward to another project and learning.

Thanks again!

David
