Hi all, I am acting on behalf of a long time old friend in very poor health. He has owned this 2 door, manual trans '57 Chevy for over 50 years. It has always been in dry storage and hasn't been on the road since the very early '70's. Presently it has no engine or interior but is a very solid car. I am assisting with cleaning the garage space out to better access it so I don't have much information on it presently. What might be recommended as the best way/venue to sell this car? Hard to put a value on it so I thought an auction as best, Ebay, Hemmings etc. Your thoughts and recommendations. The car is situated in Central Illinois. Thank you for your help.

If you're looking for the least hassle, try Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. This will give access to mainly local buyers. Of course, Chevytalk has classifieds.

When you go to sale it, provide as many pictures as possible. Take a moment to wash it, organize parts, and do some basic research (VIN, cowl tag, options). Make it presentable and it will sell. I can't tell you how many people have pipe dream prices on their cars but then present the car like dog turd. You'll get top dollar when you invest a little time and effort into the classified ad.

So, in the meantime, post a picture or two here in case I want to buy it.

I second CraigsList! I have sold 2 cars (they weren't cheapies either)
and got cash buyers! But there are a fair amount of Cheap asses there too! So know about what you want and price it accordingly and see what someone offers you!!
I have also been selling some musical stuff too! So far, so good!
