Reaching out to Ram51, On my way to get the top painted , my fuel pump went out . I've inlined an electric pump in place of the fuel filter for now. coming next week is a dual action pump. if you can in your vast liberty of pdfs could if you will post the line placement pics on the vacuum side of the pump to the manifold . i think it is split into to help the wiper s not stand alone, and i know nothing if it has a return or not . Pls help if you can so the route will be done right . And on the SHE RUNS thread my 53 is hard plumbed to pump and out of pump to filter.

Hello. Here's a link to some great information from RAM_51...
https://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?t...
I've also posted some pics of my install. The first pic shows (excuse the temporary plumbing) the line leading from the wiper to the IN on the pump; the second shows the line leading from the OUT on the pump to the manifold below the missing carburetor (being cleaned). On the pic of the pump, the vacuum lines can be seen at the bottom; the one on the right side of the pic is the "IN" from the wiper motor; on the left is the "OUT" to the manifold.
I defer to RAM_51 if he offers anything different - he's the expert; I'm anything but

Ram and Belair, Good NEWS Ive located 2 of the vac, w/switches. Bit pricy, 3/4 of a Benjamin, The pic shows both brass tubes on the switch, Need to verify my switch i think it has only one brass tube. But can't till MON. Almost half the cost of elec wipers, but the purist in me won't rest..... Im sleeping on this one till mon, and at least i know there is a compete system added on by me, not stock to my car. But i am pursuing all the options i can for my time machine. One problem is i found a spot mounted mirror online, go figure, now that i refurbished both door mounted unity spots...... OH WELL as I've said, nothing is to good for my 53. Thinking of that spot/ mirror combo, can't stop the wheels turning , Thanks again guys.... KB.

The switch with the two tubes is intended for the windshield washer option...but it will not interfere with the vacuum wiper portion of the switch. I should say that if you do decided to add the washer option the porper switch will be there...but be fore warned, the "guts" (push button, rod and spring) that go inside the knob can be hard to find for that particular option.

Ram51 , already solved that problem when i found the jar and rebuilt pump for the jar, the guy had all the stuff i needed and the guts for the knob, spring and plunger and button, He basically gave them to me. the spring is ever so light that it would not return the button back, so i switched it out to a ballpoint pen spring and after much tinkering it actually works. fitting the button Blk for the chrome, and slider was a pain not just a pop out and install as the book explains . I have all the parts just need the 2 tube switch, did not know of it. The only thing i don't have is the brace to fender metal piece for the jar mount. But Blair Kewi posted a pic of a piece he did and Im going to copy his, in tribute to a fine Chev man.. for my jar mt, to fender. Ill try to get my but involved in posting pics for you guys so all who have helped can enjoy, as i enjoy all the pics i see of these fine machines and their amazing owners talent. Most notable work like the t5 machining of the trans swap, a lot of work but great skill. Waiting to hear if there are vibration issues due to balancing . Cutting and marrying back shafts and housings at home, my hats off to that guy....KB

I added the jar and button to my 51. It worked fine for one year then it stopped. After trying to get it to work, I installed a small electric easier pump under the jar and spliced it into the washer lines and now I have washers!

Thanks ram, Finally my car is in paint. Found out that my trouble was in fact a empty tank and sucking a fine dust like sediment into the filter and clogging it up. when the fuel evaporated it left the dust. Fuel pumps good although it is a single stage the PO installed when he tried to get the car going. He told me a story of cleaning the tank and in fact when i purchased the car it was the first gas put in the tank after his cleaning. Lesson learned, after a decade of sitting pull the tank and boil an reseal it or buy a new tank, PERIOD the 2 Benjamin is cheeper than all the rework.. Im still going the 2 stage route and i hope the rebuilt jar pump hangs in there for longer than 1 year, but we will see . Excited to get Brown Betty back as my wife calls my 53... can't wait to start the build back..KB
