Hello;
Especially for anything important!!
Sent my DMV renewal (certified) (due July 8th) on June 31! It never made it to Sacramento (80 miles away) and still reads "in transit" from July 3rd!
It cost me an extra 100 dollars (fine) plus 2 hours in the bank to take care of the certified check inside plus an extra $25 for an independent to do my car tags!
THEN! I bought a Bass guitar on EBAY and its been 3 weeks almost and it hasn't shown either!!!!!!
Their new Postmaster looks like their doing a Wiz-Bang job of making the US Postal service a un reliable as possibe!!!!!!!!!!

Almoost every day we get mail that belongs to others in the subdivision, have met a lot of neighbors taking or getting my mail delivered properly. The worst offense was a package from Texas, properly addressed which was dropped off on the front porch of a family a mile west of us.Hand carried and delivered there by the mail man.

Well, hate to sing the opposite song, but I've been using the USPS for shipping out packages for over 31 years now with close to flawless service. But I do realize that some areas have their problems. I do not have the best luck shipping to the Chicago area. It gets delivered, but not always in the usual way.

By the way, I would have shown the DMV your certified receipt. That's your proof and if they did not accept that then it's on them.

I have 2 packages that are lost in the mail at this time. One left Chicago on the 13th of this month and it's not been seen since. Another package made it to NYC from China in 13 days and it's now been 26 days since it left NYC headed to Hampton, GA. It's lost too.

I filled out a form for lost mail last week on the USPS website and just today 7 days later I got a response that said the issue had been settled??? I wrote back and ask how has it been settled when I still don't have my packages. Idiots!

For years they did a good job and now they can't get a package to the correct city let alone to the right mail box.

Yesterday UPS delivered a package of lathe collets to the vacant lot next door. They literally laid the box in the dirt. There is no building on the lot. They deliver here almost daily. Must have been a sub.

I've been at this place for 8 years now and some of the key incoming things they've lost for me would be, the title for my previous car, my stepson's driver's license, numerous valuable packages (small ones).. outgoing things they've lost would be several large bill checks! (all paid online now.)

We frequently get other people's mail which is puzzling since it's a neighborhood with cluster mailboxes and you can plainly see the address # labeled on each compartment inside. I've also happened across the mailbox twice recently with the "outgoing mail" door UNLOCKED and stuffed full of mail. :/

Same situation here, mailman is not sorting his mail very well before putting it in the boxes. He also leaves the entire front end of the cluster boxes wide open and drives off.

USPS had my package since the July 20th. History read that it left Sacramento 3 times but still hadn't made it to our local P.O. .

I sent a package to Washington state, but it had to make a stop in Hawaii first.

I recently had a package the sender posted from Connecticut. It slowly made its way all the way across the USA to Sacramento, and then turned back east to finally arrive in Denver. When I track a USPS package, it is frequently a mystery to me why the package doesn't travel more directly.

Hardly anyone takes pride in doing a good job any more. And a girl I know that is a postal carrier told me that the new hires find out the job is a lot harder than they expected and either quit or wait until their probationary period is over and then get “injured” and get paid to be off while they recover.

I have had great luck with UPS, especially the new Al Knoch seat covers and foam from El Paso to new Braunfels, usually 2 days UPS. Our driver opens the gate with a push button, quick steps 40 yards to our front porch, leaves the package against the door, rings the bell, and quick steps to beat the 60 second gate closer. Great experiences with UPS. Maybe it is just the quality person who delivers the goods.

UPDATE:

The package that I mentioned in the post above that left Chicago on the 13th of July finally arrived yesterday in Hampton, GA after 27 days. The worst thing is the package had been destroyed and repackaged by the USPS according to the note in the package. That would have been fine if they hadn't lost one of the items in the package. Now I have to go though the mess of getting this straightened out. The company I ordered from has already reshipped since it was assumed lost after over a month.

Its all due to the new Postmaster General, I found out he has no experience with the Post Office WHAT SO EVER!!!???

It's the plot to screw up the election, so we can't expect the USPS to get better any time soon.

I certainly prefer my international purchases to be sent USPS rather than by United Parcel
Smashers or Fedmess who charge brokerage fees unlike the USPS.
With all of them the whole process takes longer now with the huge increase in online shopping and physical distancing requirements at facilities that weren't designed for anything like that and are now a poorly functioning workplace as a result.
