Never lived in Colorado so not sure.

My 1965 C10 truck, in 1995 after buying it, safety inspection had to fix the horn, and switch for regular and high beams, they checked tires, emergency brake, signals etc.

2000 brought it to California, they insisted I bring it to a scale, and registered it as "commercial vehicle" I argued about it, but any pickup could be used for work, so all pickups were considered commercial and charged extra fees.

When I brought it to Arizona, it was super easy, no inspection, no weighing.

Just make sure everything is in good working order and bring it to them.

What I have found over the years of getting cars inspected is that even though there are clear cut specifications for the inspection process and should be an objective procedure, they usually wind up being subjective and it depends on who is inspecting it. I didn

I'm hoping I'm replying correctly

I think the only way I'm going to get my answer is just giving it a try. There are no published guidelines, as far as I can see. I'm also not going to trudge through the my state's statutes to find out. Hell, just going would be faster. I have a few more detail things I have to clean up on that car before I think it will be ready, but as soon as I'm done with that, I'll just take it and off we go. Thanks for your help everyone!
