I need a new fan belt for my '66 Biscayne. Its a big block with factory pulleys. My current belt is a Dayco 56015 11A1420. Per the specs it is 56" long. Its a little too long requiring the alternator to be moved all the way to the end of the adjustment slot on the bracket. What are you guys running? And does anyone know of a website that can ID a belt based on V-belt length/width/pitch? Thanks

The part number tells you the length, width etc.

11A1420 = 11mm wide (7/16") - A section - 1420mm long (56")

Try an 11A1395 or 11A1380

I used one from Napa 25-7570 or gates 7570. The first one I bought was too long also.

Went thru 3-4 to find the correct setup, they were cheap on Rock auto.

and of course the 7570 means

"7" = 7/16" wide

570 = 57" long

In 66Cayne's example 11A1420 is the same as 7560

This thread is why I always carry the belt and radiator hose numbers with me on road trip. You could throw a belt and not be able to find it.

I always carry spare belts for my Chevy - chances of getting the right ones at a local store are low in my country.
