I have a friend that is wondering what the ground clearance is like for the hooker 2457 headers? I have them on my car but my car is on the shop and I have never actually measured

Thanks!

Jeff

I'll be surprised if anyone actually measures.

I did actually measure mine cause they dragged every time I pulled into my old underground parking lot.
Unfortunately I don'y remember where I wrote it down.
Story of my life, actually. LOL

So I actually just ran out and measured mine. Here are the stats on my car. 66 Caprice. I am running a Chevrolet performance 502 iron block and iron heads stock small block motor mounts. My 2457 headers hang down 4 1/2 inches from the bottom of the rocker panel to the bottom of the header collector flange. The top of the collector is 1 3/4 inches down from the floor of the car. One of the issues with header fitment in these cars is the heads that are on the engine. Some of the performance heads have a higher exhaust port location than stock heads do. As for scraping the headers on the ground. My car is lowered so that does effect that. Hope this helps.

Loren.

Thank you! Do small block mounts tend to sit a motor lower or higher?

If I remember right. The small block stands were higher. If you do some searching in this section you should be able to find the answer.
