Is there a way to replace the small metal tab that covers the keyhole when you put your key in? Mine is gone and water, dirt can get in. I'd like to keep the same lock. However does anyone know anyone that I can send all my locks to be rekeyed to just 1 key?
Thanks

The stainless steel cap can be removed by carefully prying the tabs loose, and a new door installed. In the old days, locksmiths had all these parts separately, so they only used what they needed. If he has an old time locksmith in his area, he can see if they still have the parts. The door is included in the lock service package. If it were me, I would just find a lock with a good door, and take the stainless steel cover off, remove the small lock door, and replace it in my existing lock. GM used that design lock for decades. Even when they changed the key design in 1967, the stainless steel covering remained the same and only the key way in the die cast changed.

Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

I have the key that works for the ignition and driver door. I need the passenger, glove box and trunk rekeyed. I called a local locksmith and he's charging $300 . I'm not paying that I can buy a new set of locks for $89 but would like to use original not new.
