Got off good but red flagged for rain. I swear I think they may had ALL of the track drying equipment in the country there and they were back to racing pretty quick. It was a good clean race.
It was great to see Chevys running up front again.
Chase had that one going away until Byron's tire failure. Couldn't have been a worse time for that to happen. 3 laps to go. And I question the choice to pit the leader at that time and for 4 tires and gas. Was that a major brain fart or was the 9 short on gas or did they think they couldn't beat the 2 on a restart? He had over 2 second lead when that caution came. I think he restarted 11th but made it back to 3rd. Now Chase is scored 2nd as the 48 was disqualified per post race inspection. Rear suspension out of spec.

Elliott was in a no-win situation.

Had he stayed out, none of the rest of the top 10 would have, and he would have been a sitting duck. He probably would have finished 8th or 10th.

By pitting, he ended up 11th on the restart but got back to 3rd.

So he and his crew picked the best way out.

So I wonder what was up with Hamlin losing chunks of ballast on the warm up laps? Going to be a BIG penalty on top of a bad finish.
