Are the speakers stock? Is the radio stock? I've seen the problem in other GM vehicles. The speakers are on their way out. You can pull the radio and check the radio harness.

This happened in the van awhile back but it was isolated to just one speaker - AM static, FM was OK.

I thought it was the stock head unit. So in went a NIB, JVC I had laying around.

Turned out it was the speaker surround that was torn. Ended up replacing the speaker system with some JBL separates.

I would try to put the eyeball on the speakers before anything else.

Go here to on how to identify bad factory speakers. The door panel are easy to reach. Remove a door panel and check one or two. My suggestion is to replace stock speakers. The material used goes bad over time.

Go here to check all optional sizes. Check your vehicle and installed factory options to find replacements. I normally upgrade in size if possible.
